As we seek renewal of the University of Florida’s accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), we should be confident of success – and aware that we all share a role in this important process. Only the combined effort of hundreds of UF administrators, faculty, and staff will enable the university to gather all the information and materials needed to submit to SACS by the deadline of September 10, 2013. As those who were at UF in 2003 will recall, our collective effort made our previous accreditation renewal process highly successful. With all of us pulling together once more, I feel confident that we will ensure that UF will continue to improve and expand as a SACS-accredited institution.
