Accreditation Status

The University of Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees. The University of Florida also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Accreditation Leadership Team

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requires institutions to establish a Leadership Team responsible for managing and validating the internal assessment of compliance with all Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards, and Federal Requirements. The Office of Accreditation, Assessment, and Curriculum collaborates closely with the university’s Accreditation and Assessment Coordinators, who serve as liaisons between their respective units and the Office. These coordinators play a key role in ensuring compliance throughout the accreditation process.

To gain or maintain accreditation with SACSCOC, an institution must comply with the standards contained in the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement and with the policies and procedures of the Commission on Colleges.

SACSCOC Reaffirmation Process

The University of Florida’s accreditation is reaffirmed every ten years by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The university’s reaffirmation process includes reports demonstrating compliance with SACSCOC principles and standards and a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). In addition to the reports, the reaffirmation process includes extensive evaluation of compliance by an off-site peer review, an on-site peer review, and the final review by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees.

SACSCOC Reaffirmation Letter The SACSCOC Board of Trustees reaffirmed accreditation for the University of Florida in 2024 with no additional information requested. UF's next reaffirmation will occur in 2034. SACSCOC Standard 7.2 The institution has a Quality Enhancement Plan that (a) has a topic identified through its ongoing, comprehensive planning and evaluation processes;(b) has broad-based support of institutional constituencies;(c) focuses on improving specific student learning outcomes and/or student success;(d) commits resources to initiate, implement and complete the QEP;(e) includes a plan to assess achievement. UF's Quality Enhancement Plan The University of Florida's 2024-2029 QEP is a comprehensive, institution-wide project that is inclusive of all students and integrates initiatives in the Graduate School, professional colleges, and relevant institutes and centers with AI and UF Quest. The name of the QEP is AI Across the Curriculum.
